At AlderWood we strive to have the lowest environmental impact that we can.
We practice protecting the environment in the following ways:
We use cloth rags and napkins to reduce waste.
We buy bulk foods with reusable containers, when possible, to reduce packaging.
We buy recycled-fiber toilet paper to reduce deforestation.
We recycle all that we can. Flexible plastics, that cannot be left curbside, are taken to a facility for recycling.
We opt for biodegradable materials when buying toys and furniture, when possible.
We buy local food to reduce oil consumption and emissions.
We grow some of our own foods.
We pay into our gas company’s Smart Energy program to support renewables.
We use water and electricity conservatively.
